One of my favorite movies of all time is Titanic starring Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio. I think when it debuted in the movie theater, I PAID to see it about 7 times! I was fascinated with this movie for so many reasons;
Are you the coward ready to run and hide? Stepping on the backs and necks of others to save yourself? Do you forget the gentleman’s code and push the women and children aside for a seat on one of the last, remaining lifeboats? Or are you the hero? Rescuing and defending the helpless? Using your wit, intellect and every God-given gift to save as many as possible? One of the most haunting images in the movie was of the small band of musicians standing on the sinking ship’s deck. They were probably hired to entertain the wealthy passengers. However, mad chaos ensued as the passengers realized that there were not enough lifeboats for everyone to be saved. Amid the fights, shootings and the manipulations, the musicians quietly took it all in. Knowing that they were at the end of their lives, they made an honorable choice. Without so much as a word or discussion between them, they decided to do what they had been sent there to do…and play. They played one, last haunting song. It was said, from those who survived the Titanic, that these musicians played until the sinking ship went down. When the dust settles and stories are told, don’t we all want to be discovered being the honorable one? In the moment of your toughest trials, wouldn’t it be awesome for the story of your life to be that you were pulling as many people from the fiery, burning, sinking wreckage as possible? Don’t you want to be caught operating in your gift until your last breath and the Lord calls us home? You may think such extreme circumstances may never happen. But, whether you know it or not, the End Times are here. Christians are being beheaded and slaughtered by the thousands around the world. The earth is groaning under the weight of the earthquakes, wars and rumors of wars. Jesus is coming back soon. My question to you is, “How will the Lord find you in this trying time?” Will you keep your faith in Jesus Christ hidden? Or will you be found pulling as many souls from the fiery pits of hell by using your gifts of preaching, teaching, sharing, singing, dancing, writing, creating and loving for the Lord? This is not the time to be afraid. Until your last breath, inhale and accept the Lord’s Call. Did He call you to dance? Then dance for Him. SIng? Act? Write? Paint? Then do it all for His Glory...and do it now. “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” ~Joshua 1:9 Dancing In His Palm, Jasmine Ford Comments are closed.
